GMDN Update: Brazilian Portuguese Translations
22 September 2022
The GMDN has been updated to include Brazilian Portuguese translations. This will help to improve accuracy of assignment and drive forward the greater use of GMDN in Brazil.
We have updated the GMDN to include Brazilian Portuguese translations following requests from members. The addition of this language reflects the recognition of Brazil as a major medical device market and of ANVISA the national medical device regulator as an IMDRF member.
The Brazilian Portuguese translations will improve accuracy when selecting and using GMDN Terms and the approximately 2500 CTs. This will help drive forward the greater use of GMDN in Brazil with its population of 215 million and which puts patient safety at the forefront of our strategy.
